Our elements and mat have arrived, in shorter time than I had expected. Today our team built the last of the 10 elements for the competition.
The next FLL meeting is this Thursday at Glendal Primary School. We need to come up with team names, team logos and begin researching our project.

This year 5 students from Berwick Lodge and Glendal Primary Schools have been selected to work together to compete in the First Leagues Nature’s Fury Challenge. The students met for the first time at Glendal Primary School on Thursday 29th August and set up Edmodo accounts so that they could collaborate on the project together. Since then they have answered polls and are working on developing two team names. We meet again next Thursday where the children will see the competition mat and Lego elements for the competition.
In this years Nature’s Fury Project, our teams will:
• Identify a community that could experience a natural disaster
• Identify a problem that happens when a natural disaster occurs
• Create an innovative solution that helps people prepare, stay safe, or rebuild
• Share their problem and solution with others.

The BLPS Lego Robotics Team has taken the step to enter The Robotics First Lego League Competition. On Sunday November 10th 2013, we will go to the venue to compete against some other tough competitors and teams from around Victoria.
We’re teaming up will Glendal Primary whom have a great interest in Robotics. They went to Atlanta to compete and took third place in this competition in 2009. They also came 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Robocup 2013 and are going to compete in the nationals in Brisbane over the school holidays.
We still have a long way until the competition but I think that we should get building soon! 🙂
