The Ctrl + Alt + Del team was invited to compete at the Lego League Open European Championship in Spain in May after winning the national Lego League Robotics Challenge last year. Ctrl + Alt + Del consisted of 10 students aged 10 to 12 from Glendal, Berwick Lodge and Mount View primary schools.

Former Glendal student Zoe, 12, who is now at Presbyterian Ladies’ College, said she was over the moon about going to Spain.
“It’s exciting to have the experience, to go to an international competition,” the Clayton girl said.
Zoe said while the competition was mostly boys, she hoped other girls would get involved.
“Robotics isn’t just for boys, it’s really fun,” Zoe said.

Glendal extension program co-ordinator Chris Gilligan said the students were uniquely talented.  Ctrl + Alt + Del made three robots for the national championships, including one designed to help bushfire recovery efforts.
